Commercial Director at Embelco Art Shipping
As part of the “Advanced Entrepreneurship” course in the Master in Management Science program, Tadeusz presented a hands-on business case centered around the acquisition and development of a small company. A familiar environment for him—Tadeusz is himself a Solvay alumnus—this return offered a chance to bridge theory with the operational realities of growing a logistics company like Embelco.

The case study challenged students to align three essential pillars in a growth context:
Together, these elements illustrate how operational alignment supports business growth—an essential lesson for students preparing to lead projects in complex environments.
Students explored how Embelco continuously improves its services while preserving its artisanal attention to detail.
The discussion ranged from hiring strategies to the selection of technical tools, from process optimization to strategic investments in new vehicles. The exchange was enriched by students’ curiosity about the niche of art logistics—a sector that was unfamiliar to many of them. Their fresh perspective led to insightful ideas for future innovation, illustrating how external viewpoints can be a source of value.

For Embelco, this initiative was more than academic. It was a way to present its approach to service improvement and to engage with a new generation of professionals.
Sharing our experience helped illustrate the real complexities of integrating a newly acquired company, from the legal structure to day-to-day operations. And for Tadeusz, it was also a personal moment: returning to Solvay not just as an alumnus, but as an entrepreneur eager to reflect and contribute.
